Project coordination to adhere to project planning

The project coordination aims to monitor the project. It has to ensure that the project is successfully completed on time and within budget. In regular status meetings, the project team reviews the progress made. As necessary, it agrees upon timely response measures to any unexpected developments. One of the key tasks of project coordination is to regularly adjust to the planning of time and resources.

How to support you professionally with project coordination?

Based on the analysis of internal processes, the project coordination serves to evaluate your specific requirements. Strengths, possible hidden potential or weaknesses are all included/ addressed in recommendations, tailor-made for your organization.

Internal solution by own development

When you favour an internal solution, an own application is developed by your IT team.

Your team develops the solution as a “test version” which, as the name suggests, is then tested thoroughly. Following approval of the test system by the users, master data is set up. Afterwards tests (plural) with transaction data start. If all is successful, the transfer of the test version into the production environment follows. The transfer of transaction data with tests is the final step. Finally, the set up and induction of users will take place.

How a project towards an internal solution is carried out?

The project coordination of an internal solution by your IT team consists apart from the project lead of:

  • Definition of the point in time of the implementation and the draft project plan
  • Set-up of the development area and test of the functionalities in test area
  • Approval of the project phase following tests (Quality Assurance – QA, System Integration test – SIT, User acceptance Test – UAT)
  • Integration of the new programme into the production area
  • Data transfer (Master and transaction data)
  • Tests and approval by defined users (User acceptance test – UAT)
  • Set-up of users and induction
  • Go live

External solution by provider

Scoping

When you favour an external solution you can also count on me. You benefit from a with you agreed scoping study which defines your individual, specific business and technical requirements incl. the description of interfaces. The study is then used for an independent tender.

Selection of provider

Under my guidance the project team members check the suppliers’ offers of banking tools or treasury management systems (TMS). By reference to the pre-defined criteria, the selection of appropriate solutions is made. You receive a recommendation for your decision together with a rentability calculation.

Then it is for you to decide on the selection of providers and on the project size.
